EDMONTON | November 6, 2026 FOUR SEASONS. THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS. AND NOW, A FIRST LEAGUE DEFEAT. The biggest story of the opening weeks of the 2026/27 Edmonton Futsal League Serie A season arrived in a rearranged Round 2 match on Thursday, November 5. Edmonton AC Milan defeated Rangers 6–4, handing the three-time champions their first-ever EFL league loss in their fourth season. It is a landmark result for Milan, but also a reminder of just how remarkable Rangers' run has been. The champions went undefeated in the 2025/26 regular season, with ten wins and one draw. Their first two matches this season looked familiar: a 4–1 win over Edmonton Drillers followed by an astonishing 16–5 victory against South West United in Round 3. Then came AC Milan. A HISTORIC RESULT — AND AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION Rangers' 6–4 defeat to Milan was a rescheduled Round 2 fixture played on November 5, not an additional Round 3 contest. The Round 3 matches took place on November 3. Milan's result will be remembered because of what it means in the bigger picture. Rangers entered their fourth EFL campaign as the competition's three-time champions. They have now suffered a first league defeat, and Serie A has a new benchmark result to measure its challengers against. For Rangers, the season is far from defined by one game. They remain on six points from three matches, with 24 goals scored. The question is how they respond. THREE TEAMS, SEVEN POINTS The early table tells the story of a league getting tighter. RedWolves SC lead on goal difference after three matches. A 2–2 draw with Edmonton Croatia SC, followed by a 7–1 win over Sting SC and a 13–0 win over BTB SC M, gives RedWolves seven points and a +19 goal difference. Edmonton AC Milan are also on seven points. Their 13–0 opening victory against South West United, a 3–3 draw with FC Viktoria in Round 3 and the rearranged 6–4 win over Rangers give them 22 goals scored and a +15 goal difference. Edmonton Croatia SC complete the three-way tie on seven points. Their start has been built on consistency: a 2–2 draw with RedWolves, a 6–3 win over Klondike FC and a 5–2 victory over Edmonton Drillers. Rangers sit fourth with six points. FC Viktoria remain unbeaten on four points from two matches. NEW CHALLENGERS, DIFFERENT STORIES The opening rounds have already produced a series of striking performances. Promoted Klondike FC responded to a 6–3 loss against Croatia by beating Sting 9–5. South West United bounced back from a difficult opener against Milan to defeat BTB 10–6 in Round 2. For others, the next fixtures will be about finding traction. Drillers and BTB are still looking for their first points, while Sting have shown they can score but have found defending difficult.
