EDMONTON | November 6, 2026 TWO PERFECT STARTS. A STATEMENT SHUTOUT. A 13-GOAL PERFORMANCE. AND A TITLE RACE ALREADY TAKING SHAPE. The 2026/27 Edmonton Women's Futsal League Serie A season is only a few fixtures old, but the early storylines are compelling. The reigning Alberta champions are scoring freely. FC Viktoria have made an unbeaten start. BTB have experienced both sides of a statement result. And other teams are showing that no opening scoreline defines a season. DRILLERS SET THE PACE Edmonton Drillers W have started exactly as a defending provincial champion would hope. First came a 4–2 win over FSJ Futsalistas on November 1. Then came Thursday's emphatic 13–2 victory against Edmonton Scottish United. Two matches. Two wins. Seventeen goals. Six points. With a +13 goal difference, the Drillers lead the early Serie A table. Their experience and attacking strength were evident in both results, and opponents now have a clear target. VIKTORIA SILENCES BTB FC Viktoria W have been just as effective in collecting points, though in a different way. Viktoria opened with a 5–3 victory over Edmonton Scottish United. On November 5, they produced one of the most significant results of the early season, defeating BTB SC 3–0. BTB had scored 11 unanswered goals against Ital Canadian SC in their opening match. Holding that attack scoreless was an impressive statement of defensive discipline. Viktoria join the Drillers on six points from two matches, with eight goals scored and three conceded. The two sides have taken different routes to identical winning records. ITAL CANADIAN SHOWS ITS RESPONSE An 11–0 opening defeat is a difficult place to begin. But Ital Canadian SC's next result showed the value of resilience. The club responded with a 3–2 victory against South West United W on November 5, collecting its first points of the season. It was the kind of close result that can change a team's confidence. ANGELS, FSJ AND THE EARLY CHASE Angels SC opened with a narrow 4–3 win over South West United W before losing 5–4 to FSJ Futsalistas in a separately scheduled Round 4 match on November 1. FSJ had also faced the Drillers earlier that day, losing 4–2. The 5–4 result against Angels gave the British Columbia side an important first victory. BTB, Angels, FSJ and Ital Canadian all have three points from their completed matches. There is plenty of movement still to come as the schedule fills out.
